Damian's Blood Moon by Jamie Lee Scott

Rating: 4 star rating

If you are looking for a great supernatural story, Damian’s Blood Moon by Jamie Lee Scott is definitely an intense story. The book is written incredibly well, and the author does an amazing job keeping the suspense high from the very first page.

The story is about a normal teenager named Damian Miller who lives in a quiet town called Oakhaven. Right around his seventeenth birthday, his whole life gets turned upside down. He finds out he isn't normal at all, but he’s actually the last heir to an old family of Alpha werewolves. Suddenly he’s thrown into this secret world and has to figure out how to handle these scary wolf powers before he completely loses his mind.

The characters deal with a lot of heavy stuff throughout the story, but the author's writing makes them all really interesting to follow.

Damian starts off as just a regular, scared kid who has to quickly grow a backbone to survive. Right from the beginning of the book, he gets help from Lyra, a fierce warrior who steps in immediately to start his brutal training and teach him how to fight and change into his wolf form.

Things get even more interesting in chapter 5 when Anya comes into the story. She is recruited to help him from a completely different pack called the Solarii, and her connection to everything plays a huge role in the plot.

Damian has to rely on both Lyra and Anya to survive a super evil rival pack leader named Keegan who wants to hunt him down and steal his birthright. The story gets pretty crazy as it counts down to the night of the actual Blood Moon. Damian, Anya, and Lyra have to deal with betrayal, ancient pack feuds, and a dangerous world closing in on them. Everything builds up to an action-packed ending where Damian has to let his wolf out to survive the chaos, face his destiny, and try to rise above his fear.

Even though the story gets messed up and dark, Jamie Lee Scott is a great writer, and this book makes a really engaging read for fans of wolf lore. If you like wolf lore, you really need to get this one.
