Gaudi
God's Architect
by Peter Stanford
Rating: 5 star rating
I really liked this book. Gaudi: God's Architect tells the story of Antoni Gaudí, the man who designed some of the most beautiful and unusual buildings in Spain. Before reading this, I knew very little about him, so I enjoyed learning about his life.
The book talks about his childhood, his health problems when he was young, and how spending time in nature inspired many of his designs. It also shows how important his faith was to him and how he put his heart into every building he created. As he got older, he lived a simple life and spent most of his time working on the Sagrada Família church.
I liked seeing the person behind the famous buildings. Gaudí wasn't just an architect. He was a hardworking man who stayed true to his beliefs and devoted his life to what he felt God had called him to do.
This was an interesting and easy to read biography. If you enjoy history, faith related books, or learning about real people who made a difference, I think you'll enjoy this one.
Thank you, NetGalley, John Murray Press US, and the author, Peter Stanford, for the book review consideration. All opinions are my own.
