Spies, Lies, & Alibis

A low-spice, thrilling spy romance

Rating: 5 star rating

I really liked Spies, Lies, & Alibis by Natalie Walters. It was a fun and easy to follow mix of action, mystery, and romance. The story follows Cybil Langford, who is brave, smart, and determined to uncover the truth about the dangerous people around her. When she reconnects with Ben Bradley, her childhood friend, and the guy she never completely got over, things get even more complicated because he's working undercover and keeping secrets of his own.

I enjoyed watching Cybil and Ben learn to trust each other again while dealing with criminals, lies, and constant danger. Lorenzo Ramirez was a strong villain who kept the tension high throughout the story. I also liked the teamwork between the different agents and investigators as they tried to put the pieces together.

The audiobook narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. I found myself wanting to keep listening to see what would happen next. Overall, this was a clean romantic suspense with plenty of action, likable characters, and a satisfying ending. If you enjoy spy stories with a little romance and a lot of suspense, I think you'll enjoy this one.

Thank you, NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction Audio, the author Natalie Walters, and the narrators Andrew Eiden and Dominique Salvacion for the book review consideration. All opinions are my own.
